We believe in grit. We believe in ideas that improve the world, and founders who put it all on the line to be the change they want to see in the world. We believe in awareness, boldness, and compassion. We love to win, but care ferociously about the fight. We embrace the struggle, and lean into the good times with inspiring people.

A Little Back Story

Caitlin watched and listened to one of her literary heroes, David Foster Wallace, deliver a mind-altering commencement speech at her 2005 graduation. His message of awareness and the privilege of choice profoundly impacted Caitlin. This Is Water was published posthumously in 2008 and became required reading material for Stuart when the pair first met in 2013. The phrase “this is water” has been an important reminder for Stu and Caitlin to instill empathy in their decision making and strive for greater awareness.

Caitlin and Stu are passionate about working with founders and founding teams to evolve their product, purpose, and brand from the seed to growth stage and beyond. With a wide breadth of experience (and scar tissue) derived as leaders and operators across multiple stages of business, Caitlin and Stu provide guidance and support to Consumer, Tech, and Financial startups. The couple resides in Marin county with their two young children, Frances and Hayes, along with their dog, Wallace.

About Stu
Stuart Landesberg is the Co-Founder & CEO of Grove Collaborative, the leading digital-first brand & ecommerce platform for natural home and personal care.

Stu has long been passionate about sustainability. He founded Grove, which has been a Certified B Corp since its founding, after learning that offline distribution meant that just a small percentage of families were choosing healthy, sustainable home care products. It is now valued at over one billion dollars and is leading the category in sustainable venture by being first to pledge a 100% plastic free service and platform by 2025. Stu was previously an investor at TPG Growth, where he was involved in over $400 million in consumer and technology investments. Stu is an avid (but slow) road biker, proud dad of two, and graduate of Amherst College. He sits on the board of Taylor Stitch.

If you believe passionately that we should know about your venture, please get in touch.
